Inspection
When customers need information about the condition of their furnace and the expected life span, certain steps need to be taken before we can make a recommendation. Our services are not limited to any kind of installation including blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, coke batteries, electric arc furnaces (Six-in Line Furnaces, DC-Arc Furnaces), rotary kilns and walking beam furnaces.
We developed a program where the customer can choose the moment where he wants us to get involved. That obviously depends on the data and information already available.
Preparation
Planning for all preparatory works
The most important part of the preparation works is to have a detailed schedule of all activities to be completed prior to the start of the shutdown. Based on the project start date and the scope of work, the critical path schedule will be made to ensure that all engineering is completed and that all equipment and materials are delivered to site prior to the actual start of the project.
Construction management
Planning
Once the basic project organization is clear, i.e., scope, main time schedule, equipment suppliers, delivery times etc., the construction schedule can be prepared. We will determine the critical path of the activities and, just as important, we will make a schedule risk assessment to minimize chances of schedule overruns. The planning can be made together with the appointed installation contractor or can be used to give direction to the contractor’s program.
Installation services
Based on the foregoing activities and with the backup and support of our shareholder companies, we can offer all installation services for the relevant disciplines on our projects. Generally, we can state that we would like to optimize the use of our own personnel. Depending on the country, we work with pre-selected local partners.
